Hans G. Creutzfeldt born 1885 died 1964 and Alfons Jakob born 1884 died 1931 find out this disease.
In 1994 the Creutzfeldt-Jakob-Disease is notified.

Course of the disease:

The disease of the nervous system stride fast on. When you have Creutzfeldt-Jakob-Disease you can get paralysis, muscle stiffness of which you will die in one or two years.They are symptoms for spongiform holes in the brain. It is certain that the CJD is transmitted by prions (self-replicating, transformed proteins) in human brains. You can get CJD when you eat infected beef. The natives in Papua Neuguinea call CJD "Kuru". The reasons for the deaths of the natives are ritual burial ceremonies in which the natives eat the brain of the dead person and rub their bodies with it.

Scrapie of sheep

Scrapie is a prions disease, the sheep get it due to their food. In 1974 100.000 sheep have the trotting disease (Scrapie) in Great Britain. Prime Minister Harold Wilson says that the sheep must die and be processed to bone meal. The bone meal contained the infected and infectious Scrapie prions. The cattle are fed with the bone meal and get the disease and so they have BSE pathogens. Scrapie is harmless for people.
