  2. explains clearly, with examples, and illustrates materials;
  3. shows a systematic and businesslike organization of lessons:
  4. uses a variety of teaching materials and methods;
  5. Uses questions, especially higher-order questions;
  6. uses praises and other reinforcements, verbal and non-verbal;
  7. encourages pupil-participation;
  8. makes use of pupils' ideas, clarifies and develops them further;
  9. shows warmth, rapport and enthusiasm, mainly non-verbally.
